I first met Soko in Buenos Aires when I was playing with Pulp. She had a gig the following night, and some of us joined her for a lengthy, part-improvised, unforgettable set.

She is inspiring and fearless. Later she came to my house to record guitars and some vocals for her record. She’s the only singer I have ever worked with who was able to give a keep-able vocal performance while unable to speak because of flu. Here’s one of the ones I worked on. Congratulations Soko, the album is beautiful!
